Trip : Experience of a Lifetime

Rating:

Our Everest Base Camp trek with Unique Adventure International was an experience of a lifetime. The company looked after us well in Kathmandu and we met the owners of the company. On the tour, our guide Megendra was exactly what we wanted. He kept us up to date with the days plans, gave us different options for routes, found great tea houses for eating and stays. Plus we shared many laughs and had a great time. Highly recommended!

Trip : Outstanding!

My first time in Nepal and my first step into what the Himalaya's have to offer, taken with Unique Adventures up to the Annapurna Base Camp. From the moment we stepped off the plane in Kathmandu to the farewell back at the international airport, we were well looked after and accommodated for. All transport and accommodation is taken care of, with brilliant flexibility on the fly. Even after we returned two days early, they gave us options on how to spend our time in Pokhara and Kathmandu. Our guide Kamal was fantastic, always a source of positive energy and always one to go out of his way to ensure you felt right at home. He's also a bartering weapon when taken out shopping. He even carried my day pack on the day that I wasn't feeling my finest and he's more than happy to be standing on either side of the camera. But what I found most impressive about Kamal was his ability to find us accommodation almost anywhere, despite the fact we were trekking in peak season and out itinerary was always changing. There was even a day when we just put our packs down, only to pick them back up and move into a much nicer place just a few meters up the track. His way with the locals and tea houses is legendary. And not to mention he would always offer to pick our bags up for us. The porters were brilliant too. Being 23 years old, I probably had the best experience as not only did the porters successfully do everything you would ever want a porter to do, but being similar to my age I came out of my journey with two new genuine friends. Always friendly and positive and giving. It only got better when we finally got them to play cards with us each night. I would always recommend a guide and porters. It takes the pressure off finding accommodation and organising logistics and having porters allows you to truly focus on the experience, not just the challenge, even if you are fit and capable like us. And with Unique Adventures you are putting yourself in very good hands so you can get the most out of what you traveled to do. Thank you so much to Khum, Kamal, Bikram and Sangita! Couldn't have done it better. Can't wait for EBC!

Trip : A very special week in the Khumbu Valley

Rating:

We had a fantastic on the Everest Base Camp trip in late August of this year (my apologies for the late posting of this review). All the way throughout our trip we were supported by our fantastic guide Hemanta, our porter Akas and Krisna back in Kathmandu. On the first day of our trip we were greeted at the airport and got a lift to Thamel, where we were greeted by Krisna who ran us through all the need-to-knows for the week and reassured us. (Throughout the trip while we were in Kathmandu we had access to lifts/taxis to different sights). Our guide Hemanta had a worth of local knowledge, having lived in Dingboche for many years and this made such a massive difference to our experience - at all the tea houses conversation/translation with the hosts and getting breakfast/lunch/dinner was easy. I cannot reckon highly enough the benefits of going with a guide! The benefit of going with a guide was evident when, a few days into walking, our guide recognized our speed in covering the distances each day and offered to take us on a slight detour on our way to base camp, up to Chokung! When one of us, unfortunately, suffered from altitude sickness Hemanta was quick to recognize it and was always checking on our conditions with an oxymeter. We eventually got medically evacuated out by helicopter and Krisna and Hemnta were amazing at doing all they could to make sure we got back safe - having the expertise of locals who already know the helicopter companies, tea houses and lots of people in the valley well - made everything a lot easier. Alongside having a guide with us in the day, we were fortunate to have a porter, Akas, who helped us carry bags along the way (be sure to tip well if you want to). Overall it was one of the best weeks of my life, and as someone with not much high-altitude climbing experience beforehand this was very enjoyable - it has only made me want to go back and start on some 6000m peaks. All the pathways on the route are very easy to walk on, with the guides we got to see a lot of the local culture beyond just looking at temples from the outside - we managed to be welcomed into two temples on our way to base camp! I took a lot of photos as you might expect throughout the trip, but as I constantly told my family back home, photos really don't do it justice, you constantly feel overwhelmed by the landscape around you! There are few places like the Himalayas and the Khumbu Valley in particular in the world, and I would highly recommend adventuring into the landscape with UniqueAdventureLimited.

Trip : Amazing Experience

Rating:

Overall I can only say that I had a really fantastic experience hiking the Annapurna Circuit and I can only recommend to do the trip with the Unique Adventures Travel agency and especially with the guide Sudan! ?? The organization pre as well as during the trip was really good. All questions were answered very quickly and the agency was very flexible (I only booked the trip 3 days in advance). My guide Sudan was a very experienced trekking guide, who was really kind and patient. I felt very well taken care of at all times! As I was quite eager to trek a lot during the day, we quite quickly were ahead schedule - but Sudan was super flexible, arranged to sleep in different villages and also invited me in his gorgeous hometown on the last day and showed me around and provided me zeal Bhat with his lovely family. Thanks a lot for this really great experience ?? I had an amazing time!

Trip : Amazing ABC trekking tour

Rating:

I really enjoy the trip and tour arranged by UNIQUE ADVENTURE. First, the price is really nice compare to others. At the same time, the service they provided is amazing. The manager, staffs and the guide they provided can speak English fluently and they explained everything clearly. I went to ABC trekking with them. The trip was amazing, and their service definitely improve the whole quality of the experience. I love to find them again.

Trip : Best climbing experience in Nepal

Rating:

Had a great time with Unique Adventure. When looking for a organization to help me book a trip for Mera Peak and Island Peak, Khum and his team were very responsive. The overall communication was very professional, swift and clear. The team showed flexibility in setting up the itinerary and made sure everything was arranged. During the trip I was contacted multiple times to check whether everything was going according to plan which felt like the people were really engaged and making sure I was having the trip of a lifetime. Thanks to Khum, Chris and his team and a special thanks to Dawi Furi Sherpa who was my guide for the entire trip selected by Unique Adventure. Would highly recommend booking a trip with them if you’re looking for a professional and great company for trekking/climbing in Nepal.

Trip : Brilliant Experience

Rating:

Firstly, before we arrived Khum and his team were excellent in communicating and responding to any pre-tour questions we had. They definitely made us feel at ease. On to the tour...Originally we were meant to do EBC, however, we were unfortunate in that the weather was too bad to fly for a number of days, which was rare for October (I would recommend putting in buffer days to your trip if you can). Nevertheless, we had an experienced guide in Lakpa who made a suggestion to do the Annapurna base camp which could still be achieved in the now shorter time frame we had. We're very glad we took his advice as although not EBC, the trip to Annapurna base camp was stunning. It was a great adventure and took us through jungle, forest and the Himalayas. We thought Lakpa and our porter Neema were exceptional in making our trip comfortable, fun and for always being up for having a laugh. Finally, I just want to say a big thank you to Khum, Lakpa and Neema for our wonderful experience. We would definitely recommend and like to tour Nepal with your team again (possibly Island Peak).

Trip : Experience of a lifetime - Unique

Rating:

I had the privilege of doing the EBC trek during the month of Oct 2022. It was absolutely mind-blowing, given that it was my first to the Himalayas. Right from the time I landed at Lukla till back to Kathmandu, it was a ride that will give memories of a life-time. The breathtaking views, the long walks along forlorn mountains, the immersive experience of local cultures and cuisines and finally the first peep at the Mt. Everest; each worth every page in my diary, every GB in my phone that I will cherish carrying forever. But none of this could have been made possible without the wonderful trekking company that I associated myself with. Given that it was my first, I spent hours researching online, speaking to friends who’ve been there before to plan the trip. Eventually, after looking at the reviews, I chose Unique Adventure International as my trekking partner. I could not have been more correct with my choice. One of the biggest assets is Krishna, who manages the firm owned by his brother. My first message to them on WhatsApp elicited a response within 5 mins and that has been the norm throughout my journey. Umpteen queries and doubts were answered without a hint of frustration. Made me wonder if I was the only customer, but having spoken to others during the trek, I know that’s a customer service which is available to everyone. A few examples of going out of your way and “Customer delight” Bad weather led to us waiting for 2 days at the Ramechhap airport - Krishna kept me updated on the weather almost every hour and the chances to fly. At the end of 2 days with no end in sight, I was ready to cancel the trip and do the Annapurna Base Camp trek instead. He immediately arranged to change plans, booked bus tickets to Pokhara and sent a car to my Airport (which is 4 hrs by road from Kathmandu). Voila - the weather suddenly cleared and I instead flew for the EBC trek instead. Not a dime asked for the changes. For some reason - my cards didn’t seem to work in Lukla and I needed some money having not planned for the delays at Ramechhap. Krishna arranged for some money to be given to me through a hotelier. All I had to do was to pay Krishna back after I return to Kathmandu. He works on trust and providing an issue-free trip to his customers, which goes a long way in making a difficult trek pleasant. Nuwang Sherpa was my guide and once again, I lucked out. A down-to-earth, simple, rustic man born and brought up in the same mountains, he was the guide in the truest sense of the word. He ensured that I have a comfortable trek by arranging accommodation at the best hotels on the trek, guiding me on the dos and donts, customising the trek based on my strengths and abilities, and providing insights all along on the culture, cuisine around the valley. If you are a first-timer, you have no clue what awaits you on the trek. You would love to have someone who can guide you through those uncertainties, yet let you have an experience that is unique for you! Nuwang was just that guy! There are many guides available, but please do ask for a Sherpa (the true locals) to guide you; in particular, ask for Nuwang Sherpa and you will not be disappointed!
