  • Kanchanjunga Expedition (8586m)

Overview

Kanchenjunga (8586m) or Kanchanjunga, the third highest mountain in the world lies at the east border of Nepal. The way passes through the isolated areas of the area which is less swarming as hardly any visitors visit here. The trekking region has moderate trekking way and is appropriate for those who have long holidays. We have to walk at the high elevation so we need to acclimatize for being properly accustomed with the environment. During this superb trek we will meet with the local Limbu and Rai communities. The trekking to this area enables the visitors with the splendid and splendid view of snow-topped mountain along with the green woods. George Band and Joe Brown, two British mountaineers conquered Mt. Kanchenjunga in 1955.

Kanchenjunga literally means Five Treasures of the Snow, since it has 5 peaks, 4 of them above 8,450 m. The gigantic Kanchenjunga is supported by great edges running north to south and east to west structuring a huge 'X'. On the east edge in Sikkim lays Siniolchu (6,888 m) considered as one of the most stunning peaks in the world. To the south, noticeable from Darjeeling, are Kabru North (7,338 m), Kabru South (7,316 m) and Rathong peaks (6,678 m). The west edge ends in the wonderful Jannu (7,710 m) with its arresting north face. The north ridge embraces the twins and Tent Peak, and moves up to the Tibetan border by the Jongsong La pass (6,120 m).
