Overview

Koshi Tappu Wildlife reserve quite far from capital city lies on the flood plains of Sapt Koshi. It is in the flat region--Terai of Nepal covering an area of 175 sq. km. The area is beautiful and charming aquatic environment enclosed within the high embankment of of Koshi Barrage.


The reserve is an important habitation for a diverse of wildlife, specially the water birds including several migratory species like Sarus Crane coming from Siberia. Including many varieties of ducks, Ibis, storks, egrets and herons, as well as the endangered swamp partridges and Bengal floricans, altogether 280 different species of birds have been recorded.

Itinerary Details

Day 01 : One and half hour drive after flight from Kathamndu to Biratnagar takes you to Koshi Tappu Wildlife Reserve. After your lunch we start Bird watching on an elephant ride safari with a nature guide. Overnight at lodge.

 

Day 02 : After early morning breakfast full day boat/vehicle ride. During the ride you will see wild buffalos, rare gangetic dolphins etc. The evening will be entertaining with cultural program, campfire and barbecue.

Day 03 : In the morning have breakfast and can enjoy a short village walk watching the birds around the camp.  Finally move for your departure.
