More than trekking the journey also allows trekkers to take a look at traditional cheese factories of Nepal.

Journey of Numbu Cheese Circuit Trek is more than a just walking holiday in a long detour. It is rather exploration of alluring places and encountering different people in their own backyards. Cheese production history of Nepal dates back to 1957 and before that just cottage or household purpose cheese were prepared. This place is known for varieties of cheese as well as milk products. There is a saying in Nepalese community that whoever travels east they are asked to bring hard cheese called “chhurpi” back home as a present. Journey is through deep gorges, terraced farmlands and through green lush forests. Major mountains seen on this trail are Numbur Chuli, Pathibhara, Chukyima Go, Ramdung Peak, Bigphera, Sarmoche, Paniyo Tapa and many eastern Himalayan mountain range peaks. The best season for travelling on these terrains is during months of May and April. After exploration of Nepal’s first commercial cheese factory trekkers can get spiritual beckoning at old Thodung Monastery. Therefore, Numbur Cheese Circuit Trek can become nature’s wilderness walking voyage amalgamated with cultural and traditional aspects of Eastern Nepal’s people.
