Overview

The trip begins by airways from Kathmandu to Lhasa. We stay in Lhasa for 3 Days and visit round the most alluring and fascinating areas of the city. After our stay in Lhasa, we drive to the Lake Manasarovar across widely spread open spaces of the Tibetan Plateau.

Itinerary Details

Day 01 : Arrive in Lhasa by plane / train from Beijing, transfer to hotel. Free day in Lhasa.

 

Day 02:  Lhasa

Sightseeing of Lhasa surroundings, a Potala palace, Norbulinka, the first Buddhist’s temple of Tibet – Dzhokang, a statue of Dzhovo Shakjamuni, overnight at hotel

Day 03:  Lhasa

Visit Drak Jerpa cave monastery and see ancient caves Some monks lives here now and is a temple devoted to the Buddha of future Maytreya. Dinner in restaurant with national dances, overnight at hotel.

Day 04: Drive to Gyantse (3950) to Shigatse (3900)

Enroute we cross by capital of a province of Tsang - Shigatse - residence Panchen Lama - the second ecclesiastic of Tibet. Excursion in a monastery of Tashilhunpo (it is based in 1447) early in the morning, visiting temple of the Buddha of the future - Maytreya and also other temples and monastery in the area, overnight at hotel

Day 05: Drive to Lhatse (4050m)

Todays' drive brings you over two high passes with fine views of towering peaks, overnight at hotel

Day 06: Drive to Saga (4450m), 250 Km

Driving over the sandy and rocky land of Tibet, tranquil lake views, nomads chasing thousands of yaks and sheep keeps you busy. You will cross Bhramha Purtra River by the late afternoon which is way to typical Chinese and Tibetan town, overnight at hotel

Day 07:  Drive to Paryang (4600m) 186 km,

6-7 hrs Jeeps and trucks roll on the wide valley following rivers and grazing land of yaks and sheep. You can see close view of snow covered peaks to the south and lots of rocky peaks and sand duns give you an ideal world. Depends on season, nomads and other mobile shopkeepers are attired by beautiful traditional costume, waiting your arrival with hot tea and other supplies along with big smile, overnight at hotel.

Day 08: Drive to Lake Manasarover (4558m) 277km, 8 hours

The longest driving day starts with full of excitement, you can have the first sight of Holy Kailash Parbat and Manasarovar by the late afternoon today. We will spend a night in a small village near Lake Manasarovar.

Day 09: Morning Explore Manasarovar Lake and drive to Tarchen (14975ft) 40km

Manasarovar is the lake of compassion, tranquillity and bliss. After completing the memorable morning Bath and Puja we will be heading towards Tarchen. It is considered as a base camp for the Holy Kailash Parikrama, overnight at camp.

Day 10: Trek to Zutulpuk, Basecamp, 15km, 7hrs

It is one of the exciting days walking along the beautiful waterfalls with some clouds in the clear blue sky makes you feeling that Great God Shiva is everywhere with tons of blessing to you. Face of Kailash Parbat will keep on appearing.

Day 11: Trek to Dira Puk after crossing Dorma La Pass

Hardest but Holiest day of your pilgrimage Yatra crossing Dolma-La (pass) of (5630m/18600ft) between two valleys: Yamasthal should be crossed to reach the Shiva-sthal while your step goes closer to the pass. Once you reach the top, just do the holiest offering and sit down for meditation. Once your steps go down, Parvati-stal and Gauri Kunda are on the way. You will arrive Dira Puk (the cave of Miracles); the great ascetic Milarepa is supposed to have performed miracles here) by the late afternoon.

Day 12: End of Kailash Parikrama and drive to Manasarovar

After walking 3 hours, all the driving crew will be waiting your arrival. By the late afternoon you will be at your lodge/camp at Lake Manasarovar.

Day 13: Drive to Saga (347 km) 7-8 hr, overnight at hotel

Day 14: Drive to Lhatse, overnight at hotel

Day 15: Drive to Shigatse, overnight at hotel

Day 16: Drive to Lhasa, overnight at hotel

Day 17: Transfer to airport or train station for onward journey.
