Pokhalde Peak Climbing (5806m)

  • Pokhalde Peak Climbing (5806m)

Overview

Pokalde Peak, also popular as Dolma Ri which lies12 km south-west of mighty Mount Everest. It is one of the easiest trekking peaks in the Everest area. Pokalde is unsteady and barely snow covered throughout the trekking season. The peak has small glacier which is best arrived along the edge towering from the Kongma La to the north. The first climb to the Pokhalde peak was accomplished by John Hunt and his team of Everest expedition in 1953 via Kongma La all along its north ridge.

While elevating approximately 5800 m you will be rewarded by Himalayan panorama from all directions mainly the major mountains are Pumori and Ama Dablam. Though it is one of the trouble-free trekking peaks, we, Unique Adventure International strictly recommend you not to make any endeavor during poor weather because it may be dangerous. Spring and autumn are considered best seasons for climbing Pokhalde Peak. You need not require previous trekking experience to climb this peak and you do not have to know the technical skills since you can ascend without making use of typical expedition equipments such as- ice axes, crampons etc. And this is the reason any physically vigorous person or a group can easily ascend Pokalde Peak in a half a day.

We Unique Adventure will let you experience the panoramic views of Mt. Everest, Mt. Amadablam, Mt. Lhotse, Mt. Nuptse, Makalu, Thamserku, and Baruntse; visit old Tengboche monastery; and explore Namche Bazaar, Pangboche village, Khumjung village which are the fascinating part of the Pokhalde peak.
