This is for those who want to experience the
majestic beauty of Kailash but is restricted by time. The trip
begins by drive from Kathmandu to the Tibetan border at Zhangmu.
After our stay in Zhangmu, we drive to the Lake Manasarovar
across widely spread open spaces of the Tibetan Plateau known as
' roof of the world'. Then we make our most fascinating Kora
trip to Mt. Kailash and follow the track across vast arid plains
for Nepalese border lies to the south. Finally, we take the trip
back to Kathmandu. |

Itinerary of Overland Tour
To Mt. Kailash in Detail |

Days 01 :
Drive to Nyalam (3750m) - 151KM, Overnight at
guest house.
We leave Kathmandu early in the morning the Nepal-
Tibet border along the famous Arniko Highway. We
will be Stopping for a quick breakfast at Dhulikhel
as well as Kodari for lunch. After finished all
immigration formalities on at Kodari & Zhangmu,
we drive to the Nyalam. |
Days 02 :
Rest day in Nyalam (3750m), Overnight at
guest house.
Today we will rest at Nyalam for the altitude. |
Days 03 :
Drive to Saga (4050m) - 250KM, Overnight
at guest house
After having breakfast, we drive to Saga. Today
we will be enjoying grand views of Mt.
Shishapangma(8013meters) Mt. Gauri Shankar and other
high mountains over from Lalung La Pass
(5050meters). |
Days 04 :
Drive to Saga (4050m) - 250KM, Overnight
at guest house
After having breakfast, we drive to Saga. Today
we will be enjoying grand views of Mt.
Shishapangma(8013meters) Mt. Gauri Shankar and other
high mountains over from Lalung La Pass
(5050meters). |
Days 05 :
Drive to below Mayum - La Phedi, Overnight
at Tented camp. |
Days 06 :
Drive to Lake Manasarovar (4560m), Overnight
at Tented camp.
Today is the very auspicious day for all visitors
who will have first glimpse of Holy Manas and
Darshan of Mt. Kailash over from Horrchu Pass. |
Days 07 :
Drive to Darchen (4600m), Overnight at
Tented camp. |
Days 08 :
Trek to Dira-Puk (4890m), Overnight at
Tented camp.
The Kora of Mt. Kailash will be beginning after 8kms
drive to Tarboche and trek to Dira-Puk monastery
situated at an altitude of 5050meters. |
Days 09 :
Trek to Zutul-Puk (4790m), after crossing Dolma
La Pass (5630m), Overnight at Tented camp.
The day will begins after having breakfast at Dira-Puk.
Today is the most difficult day of entire journey.
We then head towards Zutul Puk after crossing
Dorma La pass at an altitude of 5630meters. We will
be offering a very short prayer at Dorma La. |
Days 10 :
Trek to Hore (near Lake Manasarovar) through
Darchen (4560m), Overnight at Tented
camp.
Today, we will walk approximately 8hrs. Our jeep
will be waiting to drive us to Darchen where Kora
will end. We then drive to Hore at the shore of
Manas. |
Days 11 :
Drive to Paryang (4750m), Overnight at guest
house.
We will be returning same way back form here. |
Days 12 :
Drive to Saga (4600m), Overnight at guest house. |
Days 13 :
Drive to Nyalam (3750m), Overnight at guest house. |
Days 14 :
Drive to Kathmandu (1400m), Overnight at
hotel. |
