| Chekigo Peak Climbing (6257m) |
Chekigo Peak was permitted for expedition only on 2002 as a newly open climbing peak. The peak was unknown to many adventure seekers till it was formally opened by Government of Nepal. Since then, very few climbers summited the peak. The beautiful summit is located in the Gaurishankar mountain region in a wild area of Khumbu Valley, close to Mt. Everest. There are many different optional routes to top the peak.
This region is at an easy access from Kathmandu which is linked by road. En route you will see the excellent view of Annapurna, Lamjung, Manaslu, Ganesh Himal, Shishapanga, Langtang, Dorjee Lakpa, Jugal Himal and Gauri Shanker. Other attractions of the area are Rhododendron (Laligurans) forest, various species of birds, Kalinchowk temple and Biju Gompa. |
