Muktinath Trek
Jomsom Muktinath trek is one of the most popular pilgrimage treks in the Annapurna Region . The diverse landscapes and cultures can be explored along the trail and experienced the lifestyle of rural Nepalese people. The trek follows the ancient trading route from India to Tibet up the Kali Gandaki valley starting from the roadhead near Pokhara and finishing at the pilgrimage site of Muktinath where one can observe the activities of many devout Hindu and Buddhist pilgrims including ascetics; who have visited as far as from India and different parts of Nepal. This trek gives insight of the Tibet-like country north of Jomsom. Their customs and dress are all quite distinct. This trek gives many spectacular views of the two Himalayan mountains specially Annapurna, Dhaulagiri . This is one of the lower elevation treks that we offer rising to only 3800 m. This is a good trek if you wish to avoid high altitudes.

The beautiful mountains view, the nice animals, colorful temples and friendly people made us feel sorry that we didn’t book a longer trek. The nine days to Muktinath were much to short! The lodges were fine and the guide was very helpful. All in gradients for a wonderful vacation!!

The trip from Kathmandu to Pokhara and then Naya Pool to Jomsom (via Muktinath) is alternately not for the fainthearted – However, Pawan and Krishna made the trip very easy for us and made all of the culture and scenery come alive, with lots of information about the different communities we passed along the way. The two of them coaxed us up and down. “Uttle hills” that were actually huge mountains in reality and were constantly, on hard to interpret $ most important of all, final chirocs’ when the nights turned very cold. Thank you for a great trip – may be seeing you again in a few years time when I can save some more pennies.
