Sikkim offers the magical feel of a Himalayan
fairy-tale land. It is an amazing place of hidden valleys,
mystical monasteries, snow-fed lakes and a mountain setting
covered with flowers and forests. Sikkim is a state of India
tucked in the Himalaya across Nepal's eastern frontier. It is
crammed in between Tibet (China) to the north, Bhutan to the
east and the Indian state of West Bengal to the south. This
former kingdom is home to three major population groups - Lepcha,
Bhutia and Nepali - providing a colorful composite of cultures.
Mt. Kanchenjunga, the third highest peak in the world at an
altitude of 8,586m. dominates the landscape and is revered as
Sikkim's guardian deity.
On this tour, we will fly to Bhadrapur and continue drive to
Sikkim. We then continue our trip to excursion around Gangtok,
Pemayantse and Darjeeling. Finally, we finish our trip with
exploring tea garden, fantastic mountain views from Darjeeling.
Itinerary
Day 01 : Arrival at Kathmandu, transfer to Hotel
Day 02 : Fly to Bhadrapur and scenic drive to Gangtok (3-4
hr), transfer to Hotel
Day 03 : Sightseeing around Gangtok with Rumtek monastery
Day 04 : Excursion tour to phoning monastery (38km in north
Sikkim)
Day 05 : Drive to pemayantse via beautiful temi tea estate
(west Sikkim)
Day 06 : Drive to Darjeeling, sightseeing around Darjeeling
in the afternoon
Day 07 : Visit Ghoom monastery & on the way back enjoy a
short ride on the famous Darjeeling toy train
Day 08 : Drive to Bhadrapur via Bagdogra and fly back to
Kathmandu, transfer to hotel
Day 09 : Free day in Kathmandu
Day 10 : Transfer to airport, departure on your own
destination
